Here is my own take greyscalegorilla's sound effector animation. For my background, I decided to use Plexus 2. I have a Plexus-less background in another animation that I'll upload later to youtube.
For the music, I used a sample of the great J Dilla's One Instrumental from his Welcome 2 Detroit album.
After completing the sphere animation controlled by the Dilla sample in Cinema 4D, I rendered the animation to be imported to After Effects for compositing.
In After Effects, I set up a solid layer where I added the Plexus 2 effect. In Plexus 2, I imported an exploding cube animation that I created from cinema 4d as an obj sequence.
Once the sequence was imported, I added a Plexus noise effector plus a points, lines, facets, beams, and triangulation renderers.
